Our staff will be able to refer you to a number of external NHS approved providers with a number of treatments for hair removal such as laser-based treatments, electrolysis and prescription creams. Types of treatments and their frequency will vary depending on your hair type (colour, thickness etc.). Clinicians can give you information on how long each treatment will last, how effective it could be, and any side effects e.g. redness and post-treatment care.
Laser treatment is likely to require a treatment episode of around 15 x 30 minute sessions (7.5 hours), plus an initial 30 minute session where a test patch is carried out.
Intense Pulse Light (IPL) treatment is likely to require a treatment episode of around 15 x 30 minute sessions (7.5 hours), plus an initial 30 minute session where a test patch is carried out.
Effective facial hair removal by electrolysis is likely to require a minimum of 250 hours but with many individuals requiring up to 400 hours of treatment.
There is a limit to the amount of treatment funded by the NHS and there is no guarantee that this will reduce your facial hair to your complete satisfaction. If you want additional or future epilation treatment, you will have to pay for this yourself. Clinicians can advise you about this.
