It's not okay to DNA

When a patient does not show up for their appointment and they haven't cancelled it, we call it a 'Did Not Attend', known as a DNA for short.

Each month, we have many people who DNA their appointments. Whether this is for a genuine reason, whether you forgot, or whether there was an IT issue, the result is that a slot of time which could have been allocated to another patient is lost.

If everybody either attended or cancelled their appointment 48 hours in advance, the effect would be to shorten all waiting lists substantially.

So how do I cancel?

The best way to cancel is via email or a phone call at least 48 hours before your appointment. You can then be re-allocating a new slot and the appointment you can't make can be offered to somebody else. Contact details can be found on the Get in Touch page.
