The Nottingham Centre for Transgender Health (NCTH) are running a pilot regarding the assessment process at NCTH with the aim of reducing waiting times. As you are currently on our assessment waiting list, we would like to invite you to be part of this pilot. The pilot consists of completing questionnaires and attending a one-off group Welcome Session.
If you opt into the pilot, you will be sent a personalised link containing questionnaires. These would be sent confidentially to you via your electronic records system. The questionnaires focus on gathering information on your history, current situation related to your gender identity, your physical health and mental health.
A Welcome Session will be carried out online, which is in a group setting, with clinicians from NCTH. The group will consist a 90-minute appointment where you will be welcomed into the service, given an overview of the assessment pathways, provided with information on how to complete the questionnaires that we send you as part of the assessment process, as well as answering any questions that you or other members of the group may have.
Following completion of the questionnaires and attendance at the welcome session group, a clinician at NCTH will then triage you onto what is deemed the most suitable assessment pathway for you. For some people this will be the standard two assessment pathway, whereas for others you would be booked into a single assessment appointment. These assessment pathways would be explained further in the Welcome Session group.
If you would like to opt in to the pilot then please respond to the link in your text message.
We will contact you and send confirmations of appointments via email, so please ensure we have the correct information .
